In 1967 Thermal, in cooperation with PPG® Industries, introduced America's first custom vinyl insulating glass window. Today, this partnership brings you the option of three performance grades of insulating glass. Each grade provides you with increased energy savings, reduced noise infiltration, and enhanced ultra-violet protection. And, for your assurance of durability and peace of mind, Thermal Industries annually submits its glass to rigorous testing and in-plant inspections conducted by an independent third-party laboratory. These tests have earned certification from the Sealed Insulating Glass Manufacturers Association (SIGMA), assuring that your windows meet their high standards for resistance to intense cold, high humidity, extreme heat and ultra-violet exposure.

 The higher the R-Value
number, the better its  performance. R-Value is the  number which determines the  insulation quality of the  window.

The warmer the glass the  better it resists condensation.  Indoor glass temperature  comparisons are determined  using controlled exterior  conditions at 0° F with winds  at 15 MPH.

The higher the percentage of  reflected UV light, the better  its performance. Reflected  Ultra-Violet light unwanted  fading of fabric and draperies.

Graph values were obtained from The Windows 4.0 Program from Lawrence Berkley Laboratory.

Performance Insulating Glass
Insulating glass has become the industry's choice for reducing heating and cooling bills. Compared to ordinary single-glazed windows, Thermal Industries' sealed insulating glass can reduce the loss of furnace-generated heat by more than 50 percent. Performance Insulating Glass is standard on all Dreamspace® Window Series.

Peak Performance Insulating Glass
Peak Performance combines PPG's best Soft Coat Low Emissivity (Low-E) Glass with Argon gas to provide superior insulating benefits. Argon, an odorless, colorless, environmentally safe gas, replaces the ordinary air found between most Low-E glass panes. Peak Performance creates a less conductive unit, giving you superior insulating performance and year-round comfort. And added benefit is the protection of your valuable draperies, carpets, and furniture because Peak Performance blocks the sun's damaging ultra-violet rays.

Super Peak Performance Insulating Glass
The ultimate in energy-efficient glass is Super Peak Performance. This revolutionary breakthrough from Thermal Industries' Research and Development Lab offers you an insulating glass system with a Super 8.13 R-Value. Using an exclusive triple layer of PPG's best Soft Coat Low-E, double-layer Krypton gas and triple thermal break spacer-edge construction, this innovative "energy management" system provides eight layers of superior performance to...

Maximize your energy savings
Reduce damaging ultraviolet rays
Reduce noise levels
Resist condensation

Best of all, an average size Super Peak Performance window weighs within four ounces per sash of other, less efficient reflective film units.

1. Sungate 1000 coated low-E glass allows natural light to enter freely.
2. In winter indoor long-wave heat energy is reflected back into the house, lowering heating costs.
3. In summer outdoor long-wave heat energy, radiating from objects, is reflected back outside, lowering cooling costs.
